Nourishment for the skin
Skin is fed first from within, but it also makes good use of what we give it from the outside.
Layered with nutrients the skin relies on to look its healthiest.
• Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3, and panthenol is provitamin B5, which skin converts into vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid).
• Amla brings antioxidant vitamin C and polyphenols, joined by the anthocyanins of hibiscus and the flavonoids of ginkgo, helichrysum, and white peony.
• Chia seed oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, and argan oil in omega-6 and vitamin E, the kinds of fats skin uses to keep its protective barrier soft and supple.
• Fresh aloe adds natural vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, while reishi, marshmallow, and aloe contribute moisture-binding plant polysaccharides.
Think of it as a whole-food meal for your skin rather than a single isolated vitamin.

We have refined our creation process into a one plant at a time, slow and somewhat complex technique. A lot of botanical skincare creations steep every herb together in a single infusion. But plants aren't all alike. The compounds that make each one valuable dissolve in different liquids, at different temperatures, over different lengths of time. So we give each plant the extraction method that brings out the fullest potency.
Marshmallow now makes up the foundation of our Serum. Her roots are steeped cold for 48 hours, because heat turns her silky mucilage starchy, while a slow cold steep pulls out more slippery hydrating properties best. Then we press every last drop out using centrifugal force so little to no extract is left behind in the root. Reishi is dense and woody, so she simmers for hours to release her polysaccharides. Amla joins only for the last few minutes, to protect her delicate vitamin C. Hibiscus and white peony are steeped in hot water, the solvent that draws out their anthocyanins and polyphenols best. Fresh aloe from the leaf is blended in only after everything has cooled, so its fragile polysaccharides never see heat. Uva ursi, helichrysum, and ginkgo carry compounds that water can't fully reach, so they are dropped in as in-house glycerites and go in at the very end, once the serum is cool.
It takes days instead of minutes, and it's why we make this serum by hand in small batches. The result is a fuller more living expression of each plant than a single infusion could give. That herbal base carries niacinamide and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, for skin that looks brighter, more even, smoother, and softly plumped.

Made to be paired with a facial oil. Immortal Serum was designed to be mixed with a facial oil of your choice. Immortal Facial Oil is its natural partner. Water-based and oil-based ingredients each carry different actives, and skin needs both. Mixing the two in your palm creates a light emulsion. The oil holds the serum's hydration in, so the water-loving actives stay on the skin longer and can sink into its outer layers. Together, they leave skin more deeply hydrated and nourished than either one alone.

Marshmallow root (Althaea officinalis). Marshmallow's botanical name comes from the Greek althainein, "to heal," and herbalists have relied on it for centuries as a soothing, softening plant. Its root is rich in mucilage, a silky plant gel that cushions and comforts skin. We steep the root cold and loose for about two days, then press every last drop by hand. The slow cold extraction pulls the mucilage best, and it's what gives this serum its signature slip.
Niacinamide is a derivative of Vitamin B3.
- Cell energy and repair: skin converts niacinamide into NAD+ and NADP, coenzymes that cells rely on for energy and for repairing everyday damage from UV and pollution.
- Barrier building: it prompts skin to make more of its own ceramides and other barrier lipids. A stronger barrier loses less water, so skin stays hydrated and gets less reactive.
- Even tone: it slows the transfer of pigment from melanin-producing cells to surface skin cells. That's why it helps fade the look of dark spots without bleaching anything.
- Texture and oil: studies at 5% show improvements in fine lines, texture, redness, and pore appearance. It also helps balance oiliness.
Uva Ursi contains arbutin which brightens the skin much to the same degree that hydroquinone does but without any toxicity. It helps to reduce the appearance of sun damage and age spots and stop them from occurring by deactivating tryosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin production.
Hyaluronic acid (low molecular weight) is naturally found in skin and holds many times its weight in water. We use a low-molecular-weight form, which gives lightweight, weightless hydration rather than a sticky film, and it layers well under oils and balms. Paired with marshmallow root, it leaves skin supple and plump.
Helichrysum is also referred to as Immortelle. It promotes cell health, encourages the recycling of dead cells, and stimulates the production of new cells, makes the skin smooth, soft and helps it retain moisture. This powerful herb is cicatrisant, a property that speeds the healing of scars.
Hibiscus is a flower of goddesses. She offers youthful, plumped and radiant skin. Hibiscus is known as the 'botox" of plants increasing hydration and elasticity.
Sandalwood Essential Oil softens the skin and helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles. The oil of sandalwood is:
- high in antioxidants, helping reduce damage caused by free radicals
- calming and cooling to the skin
- antiseptic, meaning that it protects wounds, sores, and pimples from developing infections
- aromatherapeutic: reduces anxiety, fear, stress, and restlessness and induces relaxation, calmness, concentration, inner vision, and positive thoughts.
Supercritical Frankincense
- aids in wound repair
- reduces and fades scars and wrinkles
- promotes skin cell regeneration
Chia Seed Oil is considered to be the richest source of omega-3 fatty acids found in nature. This oil stimulates the formation of collagen and elastin which help to keep our skin supple and youthful without drooping. Omega 3's also help to keep the skin hydrated, pulling water from deeper layers of the skin to hydrate top layers, making wrinkles and fine lines less visible. And, because of it's high content of zinc, it helps to diminish acne. Chia seeds also contain high levels of antioxidants and phytonutrients protecting the skin from free radical damage associated with pollutants and overexposure to UV rays.
White Peony: A skin regenerator and protector, white peony is known for having the highest quantity of bio-flavonoid catechins (more than green and black teas). Catechins are powerful antioxidants that slow the aging process, fight free radicals, protect the skin from sun damage, and heal damaged cells. These antioxidants also inhibit the enzymes that break down collagen and elastin, which are essential for supple youthful skin.
Amla Berry is extremely rich in vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant property that helps prevent and repair oxidative skin damage. It helps to shrink pores and battle acne breakouts while conditioning, moisturizing and repairing the skin. Studies have shown that amla berry extract increases collagen production.
