Chaya is sanskrit for "beauty and complexion".  Pronounced  CHAI-YUH. Lighter than the Haima Balm, the Chaya provides a light and easily absorbed level of hydration to the skin, helps to even skin tone, fade scars, and reduces redness, prevent wrinkles, while providing significant antioxidant and free radical scavenging activity. It is ideal for skin that has just been picked or squeezed, aiding in quick recovery. This balm is great during any season if you have skin that tends toward oily combination/problem or sensitive.  For normal to dry skin, use during warmer months and in hot humid climates. The supercritical whole plant extracts in this potion are exceptionally calming to inflamed and sensitive skins in need of relief from rosacea, acne, or eczema. Sacha Inchi and Chia Seed Oil helps to diminish acne while hydrating the skin, and murumuru butter repairs and deeply penetrates moisture into the skin while keeping pores clear with it's anti-bacterial properties.

After applying facial oil and serum, scoop approximately 1/4 inch drop, work between fingers to melt, then pat into face and décolletage. Store at room temperature or below

Wild Harvested Peruvian Sacha Inchi oil is high in anti-oxidants and omega-3's making it a regenerative and rejuvenating oil for oily problematic skin. It reduces redness, irritation, and inflammation while strengthening and moisturizing the skin. It is also great for acne that has been picked and needs to heal.

Chia Seed Oil is considered to be the richest source of omega-3 fatty acids found in nature.  It stimulates the formation of collagen and elastin which help to keep our skin supple and youthful, without drooping. Omega 3's also help to keep the skin hydrated, pulling water from deeper layers of the skin to hydrate top layers, making wrinkles and fine lines less visible. And, because of it's high content of zinc, it helps to diminish acne. And, since chia seeds are loaded with antioxidants and phytonutrients, it protects the skin from free radical damage associated with pollutants and overexposure to UV rays.

Tamanu Oil derived from large nuts of the Ati tree, has been used as a cure-all for the skin for centuries.  Tamanu contains powerful anti-inflammatory agents and is hands down one of the best treatments for breaking up acne scars and age spots, while reducing acne, eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis.

Hemp Seed Oil oxygenates and hydrates the skin while balancing sebum production, reducing redness and inflammation from breakouts, and treating dry itchy skin. Rich in vitamin A and E, it renews dull and dehydrated skins and because of it's high level of antioxidants it helps prevent skin cell damage which causes the look of aged skin.

Supercritical Turmeric is quite the plant ally. It works for us on a myriad of levels.  It has been shown to help reduce acne inflammations and eczema, regulate sebum production, prevent the formation of wrinkles, retain skin elasticity, and one study shows that it even has some ability to protect our skin from UV rays. In a double blind study, it was shown to have similar abilities in reducing hyperpigmenation to hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is a toxic skin lightening agent that is used in conventional skin lightening creams and has been found to create adverse reactions on the skin whereas turmeric showed no adverse affects to the skin.*3

More on Turmeric's Super Powers:

Supercritical turmeric contains curcumin is known for its anti-inflammation and anti-carcinogenic properties.  A study from the National Institute of Health showed that curcumin significantly inhibited the growth of tumor progression in squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. Curcumin can only be found in the super critical extract of turmeric, not in the essential oil.  The supercritical extract of turmeric is a CO2 steam extraction of the whole plant at 95-100 degrees F, allowing the oil extracted to contain a fuller spectrum of the constituents of the plant than essential oils do.  Note that this is beneficial in some plant extracts and not in others.

Supercritical German Blue Chamomile is stress-reducing to the senses and anti-inflammatory and calming to inflamed skin conditions including acne, rashes, stings and burns. This particular extraction of chamomile is exceptionally more anti-inflammatory and healing for the skin than the blue chamomile essential oil that can be found in many concoctions. This is because the plants full constituents have been preserved through CO2 extraction. The effectiveness of this CO2 extraction comes from its high level of matricin (the precursor of the deep blue chamazulene that gives the traditional steam distilled blue oils their efficacy). Matricin is shown to be about 10x more powerful than chamazulene.*1  This specific CO2 extract is also very high in the alpha-bisabolol, another powerful anti-inflammatory agent.

Brazilian Copaiba Resin Essential Oil is used by indigenous Amazonian tribes as wound healer.  This oil also breaks down and eliminates scars, heals the skin, eliminates inflammation, protects against infections. Copaiba contains active phytochemicals called sesquiterpenes, diterpenes and terpenic acids, some of which are unique only to copaiba. It is the highest natural source of caryophyllene which has been documented as having very strong anti-inflammatory effects.

Supercritical Black Cumin Seed is exceptionally high in anti-oxidants, it is especially good for those with eczema and psoriasis as it calms inflammation and accelerates healing. It naturally softens, strengthens, and firms the skin. Also great for breaking up acne scars.

Supercritical Frankincense is another extremely friendly plant ally. It helps to repair wounds, reduce and fade scars and wrinkles, and promotes skin cell regeneration. An interesting study found that it completely healed and drastically reduced the size basal carcinoma when used in a higher medicinal dosage.*2  (this formula is not intended to prevent or cure any disease)

Wildcrafted Murumuru Butter sourced in small quantities from the Brazilian Amazon is known as a vegetable silicone, rich yet light weight and able to penetrate quite deeply into the layers of your skin, stimulating collagen and elastin cells which repair damage caused by stress, sun exposure and dryness. Oleic acid, which is rich in vitamin K helps to restore skin elasticity, skin texture, and also reduces folds and wrinkles. It boasts antibacterial, antiallergenic and antioxidant properties which help to fight acne and eczema, while repairing and hydrating the skin. And murumuru interestingly has an extremely high content of fatty acid lauric acid which is known for it's anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties.

Rosehip Seed Oil CO2 is a whole plant extraction at a low temperature. It is a lightweight non-greasy antioxidant oil. containing trans-retinoic acid, a naturally occurring form of vitamin A which promotes healthy skin cell rejuvenation, reduces wrinkles, scars and age spots. It's high concentration of fatty acids Omega 3 & 6 work to improve skin elasticity and strength and it’s vitamin C content helps to reduce the appearance of dark spots and hyper-pigmentation. Rosehip seed oil is even great for acne prone skin as it helps to clear pores of dirt and dead skin cells. And, studies have shown that therapeutic oils high in anti-oxidants help to reverse the effects of UV radiation and environmental toxins by preventing oxidation caused by free-radicals.

Argan Oil’s extremely high antioxidant level (80% fatty acid content) reduces the signs of aging and UV damage including sun spots, wrinkles and dryness. It quickly absorbs and has the ability to balance oily skin, moisturizes dry skin, and speeds the healing of acne and acne-related scarring. The saponins in argan oil reactivate skin cells ability to regenerate. It is non-comedogenic and will not clog pores.
