Soma is the sacred drink of the Vedas, pressed from a plant so honoured that a whole book of the Rig Veda is sung to it. In later times Soma became a name for the moon, the cup that holds the nectar of the gods and pours it back as cool light. Tending the Skin with Soma

Blend ¾ tsp of mask with a little water in your palm, then apply a thin layer to freshly cleansed, damp skin. Inhale the scent of cardamom and helichrysum. Rest with your legs up for 5 minutes to infinity, really ;) For extra hydration, leave her on overnight (cover your pillow with a towel). Remove with a warm washcloth, then follow with Immortal Oil, Immortal Serum and a balm of choice.

Blending Guide

Christy's Tip: My personal favorite way to use this mask is in the morning, for a glow that carries into the day. It's two steps, but it's SO worth it and really doesn't take much time.

1. Blend Coca Kesara with hydrosol. Let it nearly dry (it takes a few minutes), then wash it away thoroughly, using a cloth if needed. Coca Kesara refreshes, tightens pores and brightens the skin.

2. Hydrate with Soma. While your skin is still damp from the first mask, apply Soma and leave her on just a few minutes before rinsing with warm water. Skip the cloth here: it would remove too much of the beneficial oils and balminess that keep your skin plump and hydrated. Follow with your toning mist, oil, serum and balm of choice.

Ultra Hydrating Mask: Blend ½ tsp Soma with ¼ tsp water (or 6 pumps of Chanda Tonic Mist) and a pump each of Immortal Serum and Immortal Oil. Mix into a thick, soupy pudding and apply a thin layer over face and neck. Let it work its magic for 10–30 minutes or overnight, then gently wipe off with a warm, damp washcloth. Follow with mist, oil, serum and/or balm. This is wonderful as a morning mask, for plumped, glowing, hydrated skin to start your day.

Deep Cleanse + Repair Mask: Blend ¾ tsp of whichever dry mask you're drawn to (Nenekti or Coca Kesara) with ¼ tsp Soma and enough water to make a thick soup. Apply to cleansed skin and rest with your feet up for 10 minutes. Rinse with circular motions to buff away dead skin, using a warm, damp washcloth for any lingering bits. Follow with mist, oil, serum and/or balm.
