Cocoa and kokum butters form the thick, protective base. Cocoa butter is rich in stearic, oleic and palmitic acids, which lay down a film that holds moisture into the thin skin of the lips, along with antioxidant polyphenols. Kokum is a firm, non-greasy butter that melts at body temperature and restores softness and elasticity. In India she has long been used for cracked lips and heels.

Tamanu oil carries calophyllolide and calophyllic acid, rare compounds that make her one of the most prized skin-mending oils across Polynesia and South Asia. She calms chapped, cracked lips and helps them renew.

Pomegranate seed oil is one of the only sources of punicic acid, a rare omega-5 fatty acid. It's deeply antioxidant and supports the skin's renewal and elasticity.

Castor oil is about 90% ricinoleic acid, which draws and holds moisture and gives the balm its cushiony glide and soft shine.

Local beeswax, honey-scented, makes a breathable protective layer that keeps moisture in without suffocating the skin.

Black spruce, wild pine and Scotch pine are rich in bornyl acetate and alpha- and beta-pinene, the clean, resinous aromatics of the forest. Pinene opens the breath and brings a forest-air clarity. Studies on forest bathing show these tree aromatics lower stress and calm the nervous system.
