The Autumn Ritual

Autumn is Vāta season: dry, cool and windy, and our skin feels it as tightness, flaking and dullness. In Ayurveda we meet it with its opposites: warmth, moisture and oil.

Every morning

Anunda

1. Cleanse

Mix a little Anunda with a few drops of water into a cream. Massage over face and neck, then rinse with lukewarm water, never hot.

Chanda

2. Mist

Mist Chanda onto damp skin. On the driest days, layer 2 or 3 mists.

Immortal OilImmortal Serum

3. Oil + serum

Mix one pump each of Immortal Oil and Immortal Serum in your palm and press into still-damp skin.

Haima

4. Seal

Warm a pea-size bit of Haima between your fingertips and pat it in.

Every evening

White Pine OilSurya

1. Oil cleanse

Massage a few pumps of White Pine Oil or Surya over dry skin. Lay a warm, damp cloth over your face for a breath or two, then wipe away.

2–4. Then mist, oil + serum and seal, just as in the morning.

Once a week

Soma

Deep drink mask

Blend Soma with a few mists of Chanda and a pump each of Immortal Oil and Serum. Leave on 10–30 minutes, or overnight.

Every day, for the body + lips

Shishira

Warm oil massage

Abhyanga is Ayurveda's great medicine for Vāta. Warm Shishira in your hands and massage it in before or after bathing.

Sarala

Lips

Keep Sarala close as the wind picks up.
